Electroshock therapy machine created for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Spring 2020 at Diablo Valley College. Directed by Will Springhorn.

The prop was based off researched images of 1950's – 1960's electroshock therapy machines approved by the director.

I then created a rendering based off the research images. I kept in mind materials already available from prop storage and what I'd likely need to purchase within the props budget.

The frame was built. Joint compound was used to fill in gaps on the edges. The luan plywood surface was then sanded and painted several times to smoothen. Dry brush paint technique was used to age and distress the prop. Details included existing toggles and knobs from storage, knobs created from medicine bottle caps, LED lights, and a printed image of a voltage meter.
The headset was created by bending acrylic with a heat gun and covering the ends with gauze.

Approx 12"x9"x7". Unfortunately, this prop never made it onto stage due to COVID-19 shutdowns.
